Introduction
The Organization
APAP-K operates across a dual space between Lyon's region in France and the Congo-Kasaï
region in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This region, central to the country, is
known for rich soil and resources such as diamonds. However, it is essentially a rural region
where living conditions are still rudimentary.
With agriculture being left out in favour of
mining, it is harder and harder for the local population to access clean water, to the extent
that they need to travel huge distances on foot to get water, which is not always drinkable.
Getting water has become a labour, and it exposes the population to diseases.
Their projects
The Organisation is carrying out projects to develop such living conditions and
highlight African culture, especially Congolese culture, in France. Their main goals
are to help develop agriculture in the Congo-Kasaï by creating access to water, sewage
systems, farming, and livestock, as well as ensuring access to healthcare and education.
To do this, the organisation's main task is to find funding programs and apply for
those projects to be funded. Regarding cultural outreach, they set up events, expositions,
and conferences in a wide range of spaces, such as schools, hospitals, concert halls,
or outdoor venues.
